Oven Roasted Garlic

Oven roasted garlic is so delicious.  It becomes very sweet and has a mild flavor.  It's great for salad dressings, marinades or even just spread onto a piece of bread.  This method is foolproof!

What you'll need:

1 or more bulbs of garlic
Salt
Extra virgin olive oil
Aluminum Foil

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Start by peeling all the excess skin off of the garlic.

Cut off the top but leave the root end intact.

Place onto aluminum foil, making a little bed for the garlic.

Sprinkle with salt and drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the top slowly, and let it sink down in between the cloves.

No shoes in this kitchen!

Wrap everything up tight with the foil.

Roast in the oven for about an hour for a deep, rich flavor.

Let it cool.

When it's cool enough to handle, you can literally just pop the cloves out of the skin.  Then it's ready to use!  I used this garlic to make a Roasted Garlic Vinaigrette.
